Laptop/Desktop Privacy & Security

So you’ve implemented layered security throughout the organization, put in some email encryption and secure large file transfer solutions and locked down laptops and desktops with physical locks and password authentication.  Have you thought about shoulder surfing or simple laptop/desktop theft?   A key area for IT organizations today (some thanks to regulations such as HIPAA, PCI, and others) is how to protect against these non-network based risks.

Do you have Executives or salespeople working on their laptops on airplanes?  Do any of your employees work near public areas, or near other workers with visibility of their screens?  Are you using whole disk encryption to ensure that if the computer is lost or stolen that the data is locked out?  Strong Authentication?  Laptop Recovery solutions? Remote Disk deletion capabilities?
